District 10 Free Flight Envoy
Kurtis’ background in model aviation dates back to the 1970's when his father used to take the kids out to the flying field. His father was a builder and scratch builder and passed those skills on to Kurtis and his brothers.
After high school he started a job at Sawyer Aviation at Sky Harbor Airport. While there he earned his Private Pilots license and learned the mechanical side of aviation. During this time he also tried his first at r/c helicopters with a Schluter Helibaby. He wishes he still had it knowing what he knows now.
He currently owns and flies over 40 different models ranging from nitro powered planes and helicopters to small park flyers, electric helicopters and balsa ARF's. He will fly everything from scale to semi-scale to 3D. He builds, modifies, and teaches flying .
